Northwest periodically takes photos and video taping of faculty, staff, students, alumni and visitors in classroom settings, during special events, in public meetings and other Northwest related venues. These photos are for Northwest Baptist Seminary’s use only and may be used in a variety of publications including: brochures, pamphlets, web pages, flyers, or television/video productions.
Where Northwest desires to use an individual’s image, it will secure the permission of that person. All photographers taking photographs/videos of individuals on behalf of Northwest must obtain a signed release form from the individual concerned.
- Northwest faculty and staff are asked to sign such a release as part of their employment agreement.
- Board members are asked to sign a release when they begin their term.
In the case of crowd/classroom scenes where no single person is the dominant feature, no release form is required.
Northwest retains the right to discontinue the use of any photo or video without notice.
Northwest will not provide photos or videos of individuals obtained through such a release to another institution or agency without that individual’s permission.
This policy governs photographs or videos intended for use in any Northwest publication of a marketing or public relations nature, including newsletters, brochures, viewbooks, promotional items or other such material. Releases must also be obtained for photographs used on the Web.
Individuals signing a release will agree to the following:
I hereby grant Northwest Baptist Seminary at Langley (the “Seminary”) the right to reproduce, use, exhibit, display, broadcast, distribute and create derivative works of the photographed images of me, without compensation, for use in connection with the activities of the Seminary or for promoting, publicizing or explaining the Seminary or its activities.
This grant includes, without limitation, the right to publish such images in the Seminary’s newsletters, alumni publications and PR/promotional materials, such as marketing and admissions publications, advertisements, fund-raising materials, and any other Seminary-related publication.
These images may appear in any of the wide variety of formats and media now available to the Seminary and that may be available in the future, including, but not limited to print, broadcast, videotape, CD-ROM, and electronic/online media.
I release the Seminary, its employees or agents via electronic or media, from and against any claims, damages or liability arising from or related to the use of the photographs, including but not limited to any re-use, distortion, blurring, alteration, optical illusion or use in composite form, either intentionally or otherwise, that may occur in the production of the finished product.
