How Long Will It Take?
The question of timing is a complicated one because it truly does vary from student to student. The general rule is that the average graduate level student who is able to dedicate roughly 50 hours per week to the program (education and ministry involvement) should be able to complete the YLTP within three years.
It’s tempting to look at the three-year timeline and want to make it go faster. While it’s certainly possible to push it, we strongly recommend setting expectations for a three-year completion and being pleasantly surprised by an early finish as opposed to hoping to finish early and being disappointed. So relax, set reasonable goals, and enjoy the ride.
